INFORMATION and ADVICE
The Society will provide information and advice to members and migrant
workers from the African and Caribbean community on essential areas;
access to interpretation services, statutory services, education, housing
(providing a directory of Landlords and Letting Agencies). Other information
to be provided will be access to child welfare benefit, Right to Education
and Health Services.
Generally, the organization will identify the needs of the African
and Caribbean community in this Region of Derry/Londonderry County and
assist appropriately in providing information on accessing these services.

SOUNDNITE various locations Derry
On a monthly basis, ACAF holds a cultural evening which includes music and food.
This well attended evening is popularly known as the Soundnite. All will feel welcome to this dynamic cultural evening.
Rumba, Lingala, Kwaito, Soca, Salsa, Afropop, Ragga, Reggae, Zouk and other popular African and Caribbean genres are played.
PAST EVENTS
[09.04.08 ] Tembo of Zambia, a young artist from Zambia,
gave an amazing drum perfomance at Sandino Bar on Wednesday night. There was a good crowd of people who enjoyed the diversity of
different African songs and dance routines including the famous Zulu dance. Sipo Sebela,
a South African DJ living in Derry gave his rythmic patriotic Zulu body shake. The African &
Caribbean Soul night was organised by Charlotte Dryden (Love Music Hate Racism) and
the African & Caribbean Association of Foyle as part of the Anti-Racism Week in
Northern Ireland. Sandinos Back Bar. Intercultural and Anti Racism 7th - 13th April.
UMOJA FESTIVAL
We held the very first UMOJA cultural festival on the 21st and 22nd of September 2007.
The Umoja (Unity) Festival 2007 brought in focus of new cultures living in Northern Ireland.
